Hacia un nuevo enfoque de políticas públicas con visión metropolitana frente a los retos de la agenda 2030

Abstract

Dein this second decade of this century, it represents an important and transcendental moment for Mexico, since it is observed that the Nation will have to face a series of challenges, in which issues such as sustainable development and sustainable development must be constituted as the central axes that must be inserts as a strategic part of the government agenda and, as a result, from these, promote all the necessary actions for the construction of long-range public policies focused on improving the quality of life in large cities, where today a large percentage of the world population, a scenario that is not foreign to our country, which lives a reality that shows a great exponential growth of its large cities, a situation that requires adequate metropolitan planning with the participation of the various converging actors in large metropolitan areas, make a sense of belonging to which represents the right to the City with an authentic citizen participation that generates from the agreements, an adequate planning that strengthens the governance and consequently it is obtained a greater governability within a framework of development with metropolitan vision. This vision must be under pinned by the strategic axes of Agenda 2030, which has become the bench mark for achieving sustainable development, following a methodology base donspecific indicators. Since sustainable development is the general United Nations paradigm, this is understood as development that meets current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet the irown needs.
