Hacia la producción de transgéneros

Abstract

Recent developments of science and technology have multiplied the possibilities for transformation and the significance of bodies. Our goal is to analyze the relationship between transsexualism and assisted reproduction to explore ways in which gender are deconstructed and reconstructed. Through the case study of Thomas Beatie we show how the image of the first pregnant man leads us to reflect on the meaning of motherhood and the idea of pregnancy as a natural phenomenon.
