Abstract
This article aims to raise awareness about the importance of the language of emotions in contemporary political communication devices, such as the electoral spots. It also seeks to give an overall context of the spot from the perspective of modern State and liberal democracy, as well as to describe the involvement of media in electoral processes. Finally, it points out to the pertinence of emotions related to political statements on television.
