Abstract
This paper support that Gramsci modified the Marxist theory of the State by giving a greater importance to consensus elements (passive and active). From this perspective, a new concept of education is elaborated overtaking the school environment and highlighting the pedagogic function of the State through the organic intellectuals, dimension to which both Marx and Lenin gave a null importance. The main consequence of this position is that economic crisis is not unbeatable for capitalism. Finally, the visionary character of Gramsci is emphasized in order to understand globalization mechanisms to restore a State of exception.
