La universidad latinoamericana y caribeña. Los retos del nuevo siglo.
Abstract
This paper analyzes the contemporary higher education problems considering the economical, political and social realities that the World is facing at the beginnings of the XXI century. The Scientific-Technical Revolution’s advances and the consistent explosion of knowledge that it supposes, the internationalization process of the economy and, therefore, the neoliberal globalization process, among other elements that qualifies international environment, leaves a stamp in the higher education that must be considered in the analysis of the circumstances in which Latin American university is developing nowadays. In other sense, the new paradigms that the contemporary World is setting out, derived of the aforementioned circumstances, place the region’s universities in a real crossroad.
