La trayectoria política del Instituto Federal Electoral al Instituto Nacional Electoral. Los avances del sistema mexicano
Abstract
On december 2, 2012, the three main political forces of the country and the president of the republic Enrique Peña Nieto signed the Pact for Mexico, an agreement in which it was established that the country required changes that would allow Mexico to consolidate itself as a democracy socially effective, at least in his imaginary ideal. The result was the creation of a new electoral authority with national character and unique legislation; whose function was to take charge of federal, state and municipal elections. As a result, the Federal Electoral Institute (IFE), a body that faced a crisis of credibility caused by the growth of electoral bureaucracies, a divided electoral system and long terms for the solution of electoral processes, was replaced by the created National Electoral Institute (INE). In this article the IFE transformation to the INE is briefly explained, the attributions that this new body has and the most relevant actions that have been presented in the electoraldays held since its creation in 2014.
