Abstract

while universities seek to innovate their ways of transmitting knowledge; the Metropolitan Autonomous University has for 40 years, with innovative educational models: the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana unit Xochimilco with the modular system was created in this context, more than three decades opened a new unit (Lerma), with an educational model that aims to be innovative and that is the Lerma educational model. A way to analyze these models lies in the techniques provided by the method of comparative education. Prior to this study, the authors have made various evaluative analysis of the Modular system and in the present have made a comparison with the purpose of finding the strengths, opportunities, threats and weaknesses of both educational systems.
