Abstract

In the present work the strategic importance of oil is contemplated from its energetic characteristic in combustion engines. Mexico, pioneer country in this hydrocarbon exploitation, became an important geopolitical nation. In such world´s scenario, the need for oil supply was growing in Europe as in the United States of America, so foreign investors wanted to take advantage over a convulsive country due to the revolution. No small was their surprise when they encountered an administration completely compromised with the highest aspirations and future of its people and when a new political Constitution was elaborated they kept the property of the under ground richness to benefit future generations. As Luis Cabrera mentioned, “they were not willing to change the oil richness for a dish of lentils”.
