Abstract

From 2000-2012 Mexico was governed by presidents from the Partido Acción Nacional (PAN). Great expectations were created whit regards to improving employment. However, during that period, not only did the Economic/ Country experience a rise in unemployment, but also a growth in the informal sector, resulting in a deterioration of the workers economic situation. Nevertheless, the measures taken by the government to create jobs in the formal sector, as well as those created to cope with the crisis, were considered a total failure.
