Los actores del agua. Cultura y resistencia entre los pueblos lacustres de la Ciudad de México
Keywords:

This article talks about the complex issues around water management in the Lake District of Mexico City. Water issues in the lake district derive from public policies favoring the central city, real estate industry, and various political interests that negatively impact the environment, its livelihoods and forms of production, built on a culture inherited by native peoples. I analyze the social movements emerging in defense of the territory, which manifest throughout different historical periods in the twentieth century. The resistance manifests in various forms that have enabled the local population who have allowed the preservation of ecological reserves, canals, chinampas and wetlands.
