Abstract

This paper establishes the role of the media, particularly the documentary, in political action, in order to present the analysis of the movie Bajo Juárez: la ciudad devorando a sus hijas. The author faces the problem of the femicide with a critical and proactive approach, in order to develop a feeling of solidarity with the people and the family victims, that because of the authority’s indifference they try to find, in different areas, to make their voice echo. It is from the positions of Hannah Arendt and Jacques Ranciére, regarding the concept of political action that we can show that the documentary is a medium capable to involve, by his word and through the complaint, the subjects as political actors.
