Repensar la distritación electoral
Abstract
Citizen representation at the legislative chambers is based on a series of processes and tasks to be performed by institutions in charge of the electoral process. Among these stand out the redistricting and electoral redistricting, according to experts, should be regularly performed, so that the population dynamics does not generate imbalances and biases elections. However, there are some problems associated with the process and some resistance to change in the territorial structure of the actors involved. Upon recognition of the foregoing and except we believe redistricting is the best way to ensure electoral fairness, this paper aims to reframe the problem and explore a range of alternative solutions with their advantages and disadvantages.
