Abstract

This paper analyzes several theories on student activism, as well as its hetero-geneous class makeup. It delves into themes such as political opportunity, analysis of collective behavior, and the so-called new social movements. It embarks as well on a critical analysis of the university-factory thesis and also reflects on the current lack of student commitment to any given cause.
