Abstract

The eco-feminist movement challenges the masculinist tradition by moving the logic of the responsibilities, socially assigned to women on reproductive work, into the public sphere of citizenship. Furthermore, the ecofeminists have realized that non-extractive and non-industrial societies, in the suburbs of global capitalism, can operate in the regeneration of ecosystems. Thus, at north and south of the globe, ecofeminists pursue two simultaneous goals: to build local and solidary economies, ecologically self-sufficient, and the deconstruction of political domination in all its forms.
