Abstract

The paper presents synthetically the main arguments about the organic crisis (or crisis state) that crossed the Venezuelan society during the last quarter century. It is argued that this process tied two major dimensions of social life: the pattern of reproduction of capital focused on capturing oil revenues and the legal and political system known as the democracy Fixed Point. In this key, is interpreted the emergence of the phenomenon known as Chavez as one of the solutions to the crisis state. This alternative is testing the reconstitution of the material bases of accumulation and social reproduction in a context of sharp class struggles still unresolved al all.
