Abstract

Before a legal entity that doesn't meet neither the traditional knowledges nor the products created from their usage, we propose a study method in order to identify the activities that the indigenous and rural communities in order to improve a better characterization and therefore a knowledge appreciation, its management and the processes that products generate. In order to understand the traditional knowledge used by peasants to create products, it is specified of its management description throughout the activities, processes and products analysis that intervene in it. Thus, the corn case is studied in a mayan community, Yaxcaba, in Yucatan, Mexico, with the purpose of identify if the traditional knowledge and its products can be protected for the copyrights royalties.
