Abstract

This article analyzes the Technological and Scientific Consultive Forum (FCCyT in spanish) origins and refounding in Mexico during the alternation government. It evaluates its challenges and contributions and concludes that it is currently in a breakdown due to the proper characteristics of the researchers and technologist communities; to the uncertainty processes to which Mexico passes through; to the scarcity of full autonomy of the Forum; and to the public sector’s attitude before the participation and reflection of the scientific and technological community. According with this situation, the authors confirm that what is now in risk is the path to display the researchers’ (and other society sectors) participation within the design and implementation of public politics in science, technology and innovation. Key words: Technological and Scientific Consultive Forum (FCCyT in spanish), Science, Technology and Innovation (CTI), public politics, I+D+I.
