El cruce legal y cotidiano de la frontera México-Estados Unidos
Abstract
The legal and daily crossing of the frontier between Mexico and the United States. The present reality in the people’s crossings through the international bridge that links the cities of Ciudad Juarez and El Paso, seems to be dulled by the main topics of the relationships between Mexico and the United States, as it is the topic of Mexican illegal immigration to the United States and the saga of death, pain and xenophobia that goes with it. Nevertheless, it is a matter of reality, that is rich in meaning because we can observe in the legal crossing of Mexicans and even of north Americans with a Hispanic origin, the historic asymmetry between the two countries (Mexico and the United States) and the racist connotations of the security politics undertaken by the United States. Moreover, in this text we show different aspects of the interactions between people that cross the frontier and people who are in charge of guarding it.
